Adventures in Car Washing

We were tired of driving in filth and finally washed our cars! It was getting embarrassing. Craig busted out the soap, hose, towels and enlisted the kids to help. Ian and I were on "street patrol" to make sure Barrett didn't go too crazy and run off. It was a fun half hour, but we did end up with slight casualties: Barrett crashed into the cement and scraped up his knee, Margaux got her hand slammed in the car door, and Craig sliced his finger. But nothing that the Wii and chocolate milk couldn't make all better. Life is magical.

An hour or two later - here he is! Introducing Ian Weatherford Windes. 9 lbs and 21 1/2 inches:

Auntie Di, Margaux, and Ian:

Our THREE kids! Yikes!

Margaux, Grandma Vicki, and Ian:

The handsome little devil:

Grandma Rhonda, Steph, and Ian:

Grandpa George and Ian:

Grandpa Ron and Ian:

Aunt Shannon and Uncle Brad (who you can't see) and Ian:

A few days later and we're home from the hospital!

Margaux is ecstatic. She wants to hold him all the time and constantly calls him "hey little guy!" She also asked Craig and I if she can marry Ian when she grows up, because he is the cutest person in our family. We told her that you don't marry your brother.

Barrett is a little weary at first, but being a good sport. He likes to sit in Ian's swing with a blanket and suck on his pacifier. Hmmm... attention anyone?

Uncle Scott and Ian:

This last pic is when Craig took the kids to some crazy park in Garden Grove. I thought this was funny. The kids are into The Little Mermaid, so I'm sure Barrett thought this was King Triton.

The Toothfairy is Our Friend

Despite the fact that our household has been dealing with the cold/flu for the past three weeks, Margaux was in high spirits tonight. She has lost her first tooth! This has been a much anticipated event for her, ever since she saw Muno lose a tooth on Yo Gabba Gabba. She discovered it loose like 2 days ago and since then she wiggled it to death and ate a lot of apples.

The best part is that she asked me if the toothfairy was real, because "magic isn't really real". I told her that in this case, magic is real and that the toothfairy is coming tonight.

Tagged

I was tagged by Kristyn! This was a stroll down memory lane.

Rules:
1. go to the document/ my pictures site on your computer
2. go to your sixth file
3. go to your sixth picture
4. blog about it
5. tag 6 people

When I saw this picture, I couldn't remember if this was Margaux or Barrett, as at this particular infant age they looked so similar, and the true "telling parts" are obviously not included in the picture. But then looking at the other pictures taken at the same time I realized it was Barrett. He was just a few months old, and those are my mom's hands, and she's giving him a bath in her kitchen sink. I remember lining the bottom of the sink with folded towels to cushion it. His face looks pretty funny, like he's all sour about it.

This is making me think about our child #3 who will be here shortly... we'll probably be giving him baths in the sink, too.

I tag Kim and Sarah.

What's Happening!

I've been a little bit negligent to the Blog lately. Primarily because my personal life has been zapped. But I'm happy to say that I'm back in the saddle (somewhat)! To motivate me on what to write about, I downloaded a bunch of photos from our camera that have been sitting there for the past month.

This first one is on the bridge at South Coast Plaza. This is a GREAT place to go to get your kids' energy out. The kids love to run across the bridge together - there is usually at least one trip and fall. This is them taking a breather on a bench.

Here are the kids in their creative element. Margaux paints mermaids, and Barrett paints circles. Good times!

Here are our other happenings these days:

Barrett:
1. Really into bowling.
2. Really into skateboarding - tech decks and watching skateboarding videos. He rolls all over the ground, like he's fallen off his invisible skateboard.
3. Into saying "Boom Oow-ie!" where he purposely bumps into something and then laughs it off.

Margaux:
1. Wants to be a mermaid when she grows up.
2. Recently created her own coloring book from scratch.
3. Loves listening to "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" on her iPod nano and pink headphones.

Julie:
1. Working a lot these days.
2. Building her Rockin' iTunes play list, which includes hits from Journey, White Snake, Great White, Boston, etc.
3. Measuring "big" with the pregnancy!

Craig:
1. Bought himself a couple new cooking knives for his birthday.
2. Recently cut Barrett's hair with scissors into the most ridiculous funny-looking bowl cut I've ever seen that I laughed so hard I was crying. He quickly fixed it by giving him a buzz using the clippers :)
3. Went to D-land on his birthday, and got an annual pass for 1/2 off! (For all of you that didn't know this, this is an amazing discount, and definitely makes it affordable.)
